19 april 2000 g'mornin ----- ------- -----
I've managed to tear my entire bedroom apart in preparation for moving. Looking around as I wake up, all I can think is that there's no way in hell I'm taking all this shit with me. Gotta throw out some more, I guess.
Birds are chirping ... I've been working from here for the past hour or so. The new office isn't quite ready yet, parking and computer-wise, so I'm not spending too much time there this week. I'll probably head in this afternoon for a couple of hours, though, after I take a quik drive over to a body shop to get an estimate on the car damage.
Tonight's the first night of Passover. Wondering if I should rent "Ten Commandments" or "Price of Egypt" to celebrate. Either way, I'm due at Fritz's place for a giant seder tonight, which will probably run into the wee hours.
I'm not a morning person. Never have been. Unless, of course, you consider staying up until 6am being a morning person, since of course that does involve being awake for a full six hours of the morning.
My chest hurts where the car crushed me. Why does it always take two days for the pain to really come out? At least I can take a deep breath without pain ... shouldn't affect my ability to sing on Saturday.
I think I'm gonna need one of those coffee brewer thingies in my new apartment, one that you can set on a timer the night before so I can wake up to the smell of fresh hot nectar in the morning. Coffee would be nice right now, and McBucks is too expensive and pretty disgusting as well. Office coffee is, well, office coffee. The only coffee I ever truly loved was the stuff you get at Dunkin Donuts. Used to drink it all through college. And the one Dunkin Donuts shop in LA closed down a few years ago. I considered picketing in protest at the time, even though the place was not much more than a small formica counter in a West LA MobilMart.
I have this sudden urge to get in shape, get healthy, gain weight ... I'm sure it'll be gone by tonight when the vodka and cigarettes are passed around at seder. Physically, I feel just fine, although I might be going through one of those negative self-image phases where I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and consider donating my body to the wind. Wouldn't it be cool if we could switch bodies at will? It's the soul that counts anyway, right? Maybe I can get one of those all-in-one home gym sets. Wonder if I could afford it. Probably not. Doya think they have a model with a built-in ashtray?
My Hammond B-3 has a built-in ashtray. Way cool. Rebuilt for the rock+roll road musician of the 70s. And here I am, in the 00s, praising the most politically incorrect musical instrument I know. Go figure...

19 april 1998: art a fish ally: The obligatory police helicopters were circling, searching for who or whatever they might hope to find in the spot of their bright lights, waking up the entire neighborhood in the process.
