----- I didn't think I could exceed last night's state of exhaustion, but I somehow managed. I don't think my mind's been working too well these past couple of days. I can see it in the way I'm dealing with people, the emails I'm writing, I dunno, if I didn't know any better I'd say I'm making a conscious effort to be an ass. On top of being used as a battering ram, now I've been told I'll be playing one complete song blind on Saturday night. Blind, yes. Take that literally. I'm to have my hat pulled down over the upper half of my face, stumble around in the dark, and somehow play and solo at the same time. Should be interesting. The things I do for this band ... if I went half-as-much out of my way for my corporate life, I'd probably be a millionaire. Can't write tonight ... here's some words from a really bad book I just finished: "Doubleshot" by Raymond Benson. I did like this one paragraph though, spoken by a Moroccan character named Latif Reggab... "You know, I read somewhere ... I think it was on the Internet ... that if we could shrink the earth's population down to a village of preceisely one hundred people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, the results are quite extraordinary. I was so struck by the revelations that the numbers are permanently imprinted on my brain. There would be fifty-seven asians and twenty-one Europeans. There would be only fourteen people from the entire Western Hemisphere, both north and south. There would be eight Africans. Of these hundred people, fifty-two would be female, forty-eight male. Seventy would be nonwhite, thirty white. Seventy would be non-Christian, thirty would be Christian. Eighty-nine would be heterosexual, eleven homosexual. Fifty-nine percent of the village's wealth would be in the hands of only six people, and all six would be Americans. Eighty people would live in substandard housing. Seventy would be unable to read. Fifty would suffer from malnutrition. One would be near death, one would be near birth. Only one person would have a college education, and only one would own a computer. "When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for both acceptance and understanding becomes glaringly apparent." OK gotta go bye.

And yet I have this stupid moral dilemma that tells me I shouldn't be exploiting people like this.
