----- Fuck fuck fuck. I got next to nothing productive accomplished this weekend, I'm horny as hell, and my bed is still leaking. It's monday and it feels like sunday, which in a sense is doubly depressing becuase, just like the Boomtown Rats, I don't like mondays, even when they do fall on holidays. And what a stupid Memorial Day it was. The entire coastline was buried in fog, so I never saw the sun. On a last minute whim, I barbequed some baby-back ribs in a futile effort to inject some "holiday spirit" into my otherwise morose self. I ate two of them and wrapped the rest up to take to work and nuke for lunch tomorrow. I've been pacing the cage of seaside suburbia, not quite my home yet, unmotivated as I am to make it so. Someday I'll find the right moment to push my life forward. Angel stopped by with a present from her nine year old daughter, who I'm supposedly "dating" -- in the sense that a guy my age can actually "date" a nine year old. I pick her up at the elementary school every once in a while and take her to lunch. She tells her friends I'm her boyfriend. Her mom thinks it's cute. She's got quite a crush on me, and I wonder why I don't have the same effect on females my own age. The present, my "housewarming gift," turned out to be a five foot tall stuffed Garfield (see today's photo) which is almost half the size of my already small bedroom. I have no idea what to do with this thing. Keeping it here will drive me insane and leave no room for my belongings. Getting rid of it will hurt the feelings of a little girl I happen to adore. I'm stumped. I don't like cats. I like Garfield even less. Looking at the oversized orange apparition, I want to hurt it. Stupid smug expression on it's face. It might make a good punching bag. Why am I reacting so strongly to a stuffed animal? Probably because I've barely begun to unpack all of my belongings into this ridiculously small room, I sit for hours on end running mental floor plans through my mind on how to best utilize the space, and just when I think I have it down, a large tangerine pussy drops into the middle of it all and fucks the whole thing up. Maybe I can take it to the office. Tie it to the roof of my car like Aunt Edna in that "Vacation" movie? Really, I'm wide open to suggestions here. No, it won't fit in the closet. My bed? Oh no, when I said I was horny I didn't mean that kind of ... um ... cat? ... nah forget it. I should stop writing now before I get myself in trouble. 29 may 1999: didn't write : 29 may 1998: duality : Its me, again, Don. Chuckles and I are collaborating on this entry, and he left me with the task of trying to find a common starting point to sum up today. Well, the theme for today kids is "drifting".
